Paige Heiple of Adrian Serves in Trinidad over Spring Break

2013 Apr 12

Paige Heiple of Adrian spent spring break serving in Trinidad as part of a mission trip taken by Ohio Christian University students with Go International. The trip involved putting on vacation bible school program for children and ministering to the local community.

The team worked alongside Faith Assembly International Church and Trinidad and Tobago Urban Ministries to reach out to the community near the city of Port of Spain. Each evening the team put on a vacation bible school program for children from infants to high school age. During the day, they took a program of music, drama, testimonies and a Gospel message to many different locations including a drug rehab center, youth prison, special needs secondary school, preschool and a nursing home.

The students also got to experience a new culture. "I know for myself it was culture shock, which I think made us even more passionate about why we were there in the first place; to help and to love on this amazing group of people, and to show them God's love, the love he has for all of us," said OCU Student Paige Hemple.
