Meghan Coleman Serves in Trinidad and Tobago over Spring Break

2014 Mar 24

Meghan Coleman spent spring break serving in Trinidad and Tobago as part of a mission trip taken by Ohio Christian University students. The OCU students went as part of GO International's "The Great Spring Break" which was designed to take college students overseas and give them the opportunity to serve on the mission field while pouring into them spiritually.

The group spent the week doing ministry, discipleship and loving on the people of the island. They were able to go to a youth prison, elderly home, a men's drug rehabilitation center, an orphanage and several schools. They traveled to one or two of these places at the beginning of each day to put on a program then spend time getting to know the people. In the afternoon, they went to a Hindu village where they put on a vacation bible school program for 40 children. The team also assisted in various construction projects and worshiped with the local church.

"It was an amazing trip," said Allyson Jones, a Sophomore Early Childhood Education major. "We got to do so much, but we also got the chance to relax at times and just take personal time with God and get re-energized."

The students are already looking forward to next year's Great Spring Break Trip to Ireland.
