#OhioChristian Student Karissa Saultz Serves on #OCUCampTeams

2014 Aug 22

Karissa Saultz was one of 40 Ohio Christian University students who spent their summer ministering to youth as part of the OCU Summer Camp Teams and Sounds of Hope traveling music ministry. They traveled to 32 camps across five states to serve as camp counselors sharing God's love with youth ranging from elementary to high school age.

"I have been incredibly blessed to be a part of summer camp teams. It was an honor to share my testimony, lead people to Christ, and pour God's love into many young adults. I could not think of a better way to spend my summer!" - Anna Bonk, OCU Junior and Early Childhood Education major

"Camp Teams is a great opportunity to be a part of something bigger than yourself and to minister to youth on a personal level." Jarod Massie, OCU Senior and Chemical Dependency Counseling major

The camp team members were led by eight student team leaders and completed more than 40 hours of training to prepare for the summer ministry. Here are a few comments from some of the camps that hosted the OCU Summer Camp Teams:

"Energetic, fun, professional, flexible, compassionate, friendly, God-centered, one of the best teams I have worked with." - Faith Church Youth Camp

"They built relationships with the kids, took on responsibilities, and had great attitudes." - Camp Lebanon

"They displayed Christ's love to both the kids and staff." - David Maynard, Pleasant Vineyard Ministries

"All of the members were excellent!" - David Pepper, Kentucky Wesleyan Youth Camp
